Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) is located in Bengaluru and was established in 2001 by NITTE Education Trust. NMIT Bangalore is an autonomous institution that is accredited with A+ Grade by NAAC. It offers NBA-accredited tier-1 UG courses. To promote multi-disciplinary research, NMIT has started eleven-of-the-art Centres of Excellence on Space Research, Robotics Research, Nanomaterials & MEMS, Aerospace and IoT, Quantum Computing, Cyber Security, Product Life cycle and Management, Electric Vehicles, Addictive manufacturing / 3D printing, Applied Mechatronics / Industry 4.0 and 5G Technologies.

The college is approved by AICTE and accredited with Platinum Grade by AICTE-CII, the Government of Karnataka, and UGC. It is affiliated with the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). It has been ranked in the 151-200 rank bands for the Engineering category and between the 101-150 rank band for the Innovation category by NIRF in 2023. It is among the top Engineering institutes in Bangalore.

To promote multi-disciplinary research, NMIT has started seven state-of-the-art Centres of Excellence on Space Research, Robotics Research, Nanomaterials & MEMS, Design and Process Simulations, Aerospace and IoT, Power Engineering, Women Empowerment, Quantum Computing, and Cyber Security.
